As you're telling the story about these three children, you're shifting points of view all the time. And as a reader, I really prefer the worlds of Third Person narrators who are seen. So I wanted that fluidity. I wanted that nimbleness. There's even some characters who aren't the central three, like the mother's friend. Of course, friendship is never simple either. Julie always had a sort of, it was a romantic friendship for her in some ways.
