Is Life Experience a Good Thing?

The way in which philosophy is professionalized I think are really problematic. Part of what happened to me to cause the midlife crisis but also to enable me to do whatever I wanted philosophically was that I had tenure. So, kind of a pressure on younger philosophers and younger thinkers not to pursue the questions they might really want to pursue with freedom.
