Epicurus writes in his Maxims quote injustice is not a bad thing in its own right but only because of the fear produced by the suspicion that one will not escape the notice of those assigned to punish such actions. But even just sort of living dishonestly right if not necessarily as a criminal Epicurus says it's impossible to live pleasantly. The reason why is that a life in which one has acted unjustly toward others caused others harm or suffering cheated, lied, stolen or in some way transgressed against other people.
