Pro-Democracy Efforts in Southeast Asia
I think the best way to do it is to lead by example something we've struggled to do a little bit in the last few years. But supporting groups within countries that are promoting democracy and human rights, civil society, independent media,. those sorts of things, hugely important. There's very vibrant civil society in much of Southeast Asia. Throughout Southeast Asia, you've got entrenched elites, just like you have elsewhere in the world, that are really resistant to change. We'll see now in Thailand in the coming weeks how that entrenched elite is going to respond to the election results.
