My friend Marcella's great grandparents had originally escaped the pogroms in Russia at the turn of the century she'd heard stories about a trip on a horse and cart that they'd escaped with just their belongings. They'd made a life in Whitechapel that was immensely difficult it was full of poverty and hunger and kids going to orphanages. In that difficulty in that sort of really tough journey they lost they lost that original name so now they've got Gatsky and a few other little traces.
