How to Upgrade to a CW Radio
There's nothing wrong with actually dropping a ground rod at the low point of your antenna, like where the antenna comes down. Drop a ground rod there at a spark or rester and then connect that to your AC safety ground on the water line. Electrically, it should all essentially be the same, just a different way of having to do things. K4SWL is an inspiration. I decided to prioritize getting my extra upgrade because I almost keyed up outside the general band space about a half a dozen times after hearing a station I wanted to make a contact with.
