I think we at least tried to take seriously the reality of crime in New York. I would say Carl Canty was living in the South Bronx, a very poor and segregated part of New York. It's always been true. People from the South Bronx can commit crimes and did commit crimes in Union Square. But where did these kids take the train from? From the South Bronx? Yeah, it's all connected.
