Women's Rights - The Declaration of Independence

The women's convention was held in New York on July 18th, 1848. The group decided to draft a statement for the convention that would be modelled after the declaration of independence. Stanton identified specific grieva s, including women's lack of economic and educational opportunities. But stanton had a nagging feeling that something was missing, a final resolution so bold and so radical that the convention could not be ignored.
