The History of Sky Writing

On a clear day, you can see sky written messages for something like 30 miles. Captain Cyril Turner was the first person to write a sky written advertisement in 1922. After John Clifford invented this, somebody's like, "Let's charge companies money to advertise their stuff in the sky"
