Alisa is a storyteller, writer, facilitator and childhood sexual abuse survivor. Her work focuses on offering emotional support to other young survivors healing from sexual trauma.
Alisa started Healing Honestly™ in 2016 as a way to share her experiences as a millennial woman trying to live her career-building, tequila-drinking, sex-having, Netflix-and-chilling life while contending with her experiences as a survivor of child sexual abuse. HealingHonestly.com now has a readership of 500,000 people who stick around for her transparency, humor (healing from child sex abuse is funnier than you’d think), and ability to talk about really heavy and hard topics around sexual trauma, mental health and healing in a way that feels accessible.
Today we’re talking about Alisa’s new book, Healing Honestly. The Messy and Magnificent Path to Overcoming Self-Blame and Self-Shame.
