The Decision to Eat a Second Meal

Cuddle fish are able to recall things about their last meal in order to get their next meal. In humans the ability to mentally place ourselves in past or future events is a form of consciousness it's the awareness of a self that moves through time. From their behavior in Alex's tests it seems like the cuddle fish are doing something similar so is this a sign that they're conscious? We don't know whether they're reliving their experiences in the way that we might do if we're daydreaming or thinking about what's for lunch.
