The stay at home girlfriend on the surface being, I'm reclaiming my power as someone who doesn't want to work. It does all feel related in some way to very traditional forms of misogyny and hegemony. White women have politically fallen out of favor over the past few years and want to be seen as the apex of femininity once more.
