I always thought i'd be a writer, and i aspired to be a noveli you like asamof e asmov. Film making in toronto in the 19 late fifties, sixties was not an option. That's why we created the canadian film makers coop. The idea was that forget about the commercial interaction of a film making. We would make films for nothing. Basically underground films. And then we would distribute them through a coop that would allow schools or anybody who wanted to screen films. I mean, there were screenings in toronto on the street. People would hang up sheets, and we'd have screnings on bluer street often
