The Importance of Tropes in Romance

I'm loving, unfortunately, you were so much and something that is so unique about it. I am normally mostly historical romance reader. You and Kate Clayborn basically drag me to contemporaries,. But there are some like older school trope in that this is not sort of rooted, but marriage of convenience and sex pact and things like that. What do you decide the tropes first? Or they kind of like naturally come up as you're thinking about the storysort of what's your approach to that? "It always ends up being a trope no matter what I write"
