In verse two ad three, the jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king ahasueris to hand on such as sought their hurt. Verse four, mordecai, who was always seen so lowly outside the gate of the palace, is now great in the king's house. The people that at one point could have, and probably would have turned on the jews, now turn to join them an end of defending them against their enemies.
