Introduction
Medallion, established in 19 88, has returned in excess of 60 or 70% annually for more than 30 years. The firm's flag ship fun medallion is called the renaissance technologies fund. A few years ago, i was introduced to an ontrpener who was building a new type of quant hedge fund. I had invested in one such fund with some good fortune in the mid two thousand but something about this story stood out. This entrepener was using a new platform for collective intelligence to build his trading algorithms. That was the first thing. And i have been fascinated by medallion and their quantattiove approach to investing.
