How Many Parking Spaces Are There in the United States?

We don't have a very good estimate. They run all over the map, but i think the best guess that i could give you is that there are about three parking spaces for every car in the united states. So we tried to calculate that. And my interest was mainly on surface parking lot, which are, i guess, the lowest on the cono evolution chain, if you will, of parking.
