Kant insisted that man not morally good unless his conduct is marked by the total absence of any psychological inclination and motivated solely by respect for reason. John stuart mill, on the other hand, did not similarly repudiate kant's ethics. Koffman: What is at stake is clearly something different from any attempt to develop a system of ethics.
