The Week in Art

CHAPTER

We're Taking Protests Into Cities, Institutions and Institutions

Superglue is just another convenient version of a lock on. You know, it means that you cannot be removed as quickly. And so I think what's interesting is the fact that we have been gluing ourselves and locking ourselves onto oil terminals. People have been tying themselves to trees to try and stop old growth forests being destroyed. We're taking those forms of protest from somewhere which was easy to ignore from somewhere that was distant. The fact is that we can't waste our time anymore just trying to defend against these new disastrous projects. Because also we're tired. What we need to do is stop the system that is allowing this to happen.
