In 2010, the Mississippi Development Authority sent a team of economic experts into the town to try and rescue it from poverty. The only thing this team of experts could come up with was Emmett Till tourism because stories of Till's murder are now one of the few commodities that were in the city. And so the Glendora's mayor, Johnny B. Thomas, he took this lesson to heart and he started telling stories. For example, that Till's story was not dropped directly into the Tallahatchy River, but it was dropped into the black bayou from inside the Glendorea city limits. He's tried to capitalize on these stories, but he has one big problem
