How to Grow Subscribers on YouTube

I worry the optics of that are, oh, wow, this channel has really lost their way. I'm not super interested in creating shorts that kind of game the system to grow subscribers. So it is interesting to think about the concept that we could figure out a way to get to five million subscribers this year with shorts. But I agree that that doesn't feel like the optics are one thing, which is very specific to YouTube.
