I think that what Christianity can do is to dramatise our values and our ideals for us. And if Christianity doesn't do it, then we don't read apart from the Nazis. The martyrdom of George Floyd has its cultural power on the fact that we as a society in Europe and America are culturally attuned to finding that stirring and moving and powerful. If our society does not have a familiarity with that story, then ultimately our ability to find the idea of an innocent poor man being put to death by the powerful will fade over decades or centuries.
