UN Special Rapporteur on the Negative Impact of UN Sanctions on Syria
UN experts welcomed the exemption, but they say more needs to be done. And again, this is just an exemption. There's still going to be restrictions in place. Even if the exemption successfully allows more relief efforts, US sanctions on Syria are specifically designed to prevent the country's reconstruction. That's what they're designed to do.
