Despite concerns about safety, e-scooters might be safer than other alternatives. They are five times less likely to be involved in a crash than a bicycle. And nine times less likely than a motorbike. So far, local authorities seem very keen and happy with how they're going. The big outcome of these trials would be if private e- scooters are legalised on public raids.
