Radios and the Vacuum Tubes
radios used to have the vacuum tubes, which are big and heavy. So they would sit, they were a piece of furniture. And then it got to the point where they were maybe as big as a bread box. The japanese came out with transistor radios, radios made with transitors rather than vacuum tubes. That was just amazing. You could bring cause i remember i lived in new jersey at the time, and we used to go, i was a kid, and weUsed to go to the Jersey shore on their little transitor radios.
