The Double Empathy Problem in Autism
New research is starting to look at whether autistic people find it easier to empathize with other autistic people. I think there's a big case for wider society showing more empathy towards autistic people, not just expecting autistic people to be sort of empathizing with us. The majority of autistic adults are unemployed. We don't make space for autistic people in every aspect of our world. So non-autistic people have to meet them halfway.
