Garage Lighting - The Gift That Keeps on Giving
You want to find an area of your home or the artist's home where you've got directional light that's also diffused. You don't want any sunlight hitting the artwork at all because that's going to cause a soft spot. So in an ideal world, if the artist has a workshop that has like a doorway that you can have the artwork in or a garage with bright sun outside and then bouncing back onto it. That's ideal for capturing an artwork using basic lighting settings.
