Airline Operations - The Worst Possible Decision From a Passenger Standpoint
The pilots of this aircraft pleaded over A cars and we've seen the messages. To get those passengers literally anywhere else other than back to Auckland. Getting them back to New Zealand on a 16 hour flight basically resets the clock for these people. There is no alternative flight either. They send them through LA or Houston or something. It was the worst possible decision they could have made. As a minimum, I would have landed in Honolulu. Offload of the passengers there made them United's problem because they are a Star Alliance member. The airline did its thing and I'm giving my point of view with the airline says and I'm going to stick with them.
