i think there's a lot more to the story if you focus on the character of obidy and the origins of b c c i itself. This was like an eslamic bank, this was the beginning, in a lot of ways, of the whole discourse around cheria compliant banking that we still hear about to day. It wasn't just a cut out for nefarious, like, international interest in it did have its own identity. In certain ways because of the hope that this represented to the third world, in some ways i Think that it was perceived as a threat in many ways. And even like a of symblike, it needed to be crushed for symbolic reasons as well
