How to Produce a Gramatical Grammar Without Disruption
You can damage any part of the brain, apart from so-called eloquent cortex, without causing any apparent disruption. Doesn't that entail that the central system must be at least localized to those so-called language areas? Even if we don't understand how it's coded there, do we know something about that it must be there? It's got to be there, but it's very mysterious.
