Do We Become Aware of the Philosophical Foundations Driving Theology?

Doyvid: Christian intellectual scholars need to become aware of the philosophical concepts and presuppositions that may be influencing their thinking perhaps unawares. Duyuweird was a contemporary as a student of JH Bavink who's a bit of an intellectual hero of mine. He came under some sharp critique from some small minority of systematic near-carbonist theologians who really didn't like his work at all and wanted to shut it down actually. That attempt failed but it left him feeling bruised I think and occasionally you'll find scattered comments in his work which are quite negative towards theology generally. So there does need to bequite a lot of work to bring them together again and improve
