Sufi - The Importance of Experience in Sufism

The great variety of esoteric groups with differing outward appearances is a result, according to sufi assessment, of only two factors. Temporary teaching frames suited to a specific community have later been adopted as sacrasanct. Doctrinal differences do not exist in sufi understanding, since all ceptions of truth are the same. Ideologies exist only where there is no absolute knowledge. If you know something, you do not have to believe or disbelieve it. Truth is what you can learn, not what you think you must learn. Those who can understand this and live with it can become sufis.
