Diversity and Socioeconomic Status in Economics
The American Economic Association has taken steps to make this field more inclusive, more inviting and safer for underrepresented groups. Since 1971, the AA has had C. Wep, the Committee of the Status of Women in the Economics profession. In 2019, the AA upgraded its bylaws, which actually made headlines. It included interviews with universities and other employers in the field from Holden interviews in hotel rooms.
