What's the Deal With Lazy Ants?

Forager ants explore for food because the world is an uncertain place and maybe something happens to the food source. Human beings really should actually be more like ants, says John Sutter. "If we don't know what the other options are that are available to us, how can we possibly judge whether the thing we're doing is worthwhile?" he asks.
