What Is Section 230?

In the early 1990s, CompuServe didn't do much moderation of the content on its service. Prodigy wanted to be a family-friendly service; it marketed itself as a place where they actually do a lot of moderation. Section 230 stands for the proposition that if you moderate content, you can increase your liability.
