The recovered memory movement in the 1990s was brought to an end when victims sued therapists for planting false memories. We had a similar situation here relatively recently, I think called Operation Midland,. which was a police investigation into accusations of not satanic, but a murderous paedophile ring at the heart of Westminster. And there are still people who went on that idea and then later realised it wasn't true. It's really frightening when you get cases like Brunner-Brunner or Saval - we're finding now that a lot of the way out is through challenging things through courts.
