The Pros and Cons of Deep Sea Mining

Mining the bottom of the ocean isn't just technically challenging, it's extremely controversial. It could cause irreversible damage to a part of the planet that we know very little about. More than 5,000 new species have been discovered in the area known as the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the Pacific Ocean. Many believe we have a duty to understand and protect this amazing biodiversity.
