How to Prevent a MH Crisis

If you have a patient who's MH susceptible it's really important to avoid volatile anesthetics and sucks. There are charcoal filters made by a company called VaporClean that scavenge all of your anesthetics down to less than five parts per million with just a 90 second flush. Most centers use existing anesthesia machines and it can be kind of a pain to prepare. Some centers have a policy of using an ICU vent so they won't even connect up an anesthesia machine at all.
