Buddhism is fundamentally an idealistic tradition, and ar this fundamental idealism in him, there's got to be an alternative to the mundane sufferings of this life. Andhe, and the whole point of buddhism is that he finds it there. He finds that mental road to meridim of suffering. So she's telling him there will always be suffering, but he's also telling her, there's a way beyond it. If he didn't believe that, he would never have left to go find the answer. Thei'r equals right. That's what i felt the whole book, is that she sees with very strong wisdom the world in a smart way
