Clarence Thomas - What Does That Have to Do With Her Husband?
Congress passed a statute that sets out when a Supreme Court justice or, frankly, any federal judge has to recuse. There's a very general standard saying that a justice should recuse if the justice's impartiality might reasonably be questioned. A non-financial interest can come into play and can require recusal. If Ginny Thomas resists the January 6th Committee's requests she could have an interest in the outcome of such cases.
