The Three Part Death in Neanderthal Bones
In some cultures, there is this notion of a three part death. First, just stop breathing; while the meat is still on the bones, your soul wanders. This is where you get a lot of ghost stories and the malevolence of the dead are often considered to be jealous of the living.
