Breasts and the Nursing of Infants
In love, there is a reopening to the world, in the play of a new childhood. In the loving surrender or gift of oneself, there is no place for emotional and other prophylactics that people employ to frustrate the inherent reality of sexual union. A man leaves his father and his mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh. The promise of a return to the innocence and play of childhood is one that can require a corresponding death.
