How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy

Scott Card's Mice Quotient says that every story with a short fiction or long consists of four parts, Millieu. How you structure the story depends on which of those elements dominates. I don't write in 3-act structures but my editors always pointed out to me how they think about it. So we're speaking the same language.
