The beauty standards that you adopt are so heavily influenced by the people around you. When I was growing up in middle school or like in elementary school, I would go back to Korea for a summer. And of course there I would be surrounded by pale, really skinny, long black hair. "I don't want to look like a fob because there's nothing wrong with looking like a fo," she says.
