We're Going to Have a Shortfall of About $1 Trillion Dollars This Year
This year the federal government is projected to spend $5.9 trillion, and it's projected to bring in around $4.9 trillion. That means that this year all things being equal, we will have a shortfall of about a trillion dollars. We're spending $442 billion on interest on the debt. You can't cut that. We owe that. We have to pay it. In my view, most of the federalgovernment is unconstitutional, and it should be abolished. But Republicans are not going to do anything of the sword.
