Bobby Kennedy tried to convict Jimmy Hoffa in the press and like Johnson and Cohn, Hoffa stayed hated. RFK's attacks on Hoffa ended up making him even more popular with his union members. He did everything he could to Black and Hoffa's reputation before the 1957 Teamster Convention in hopes that he would not be elected president of the powerful union.
