Chemical Rockets for Launching Into Space

It's going to take a dramatic upheaval in technology to go beyond launching using chemical rockets. The only thing I could really come up with is if you put a fusion powered rocket on a jet plane, like piggyback it and then launch from there. So yeah, chemical rockets for launching into space and for quite some time. For human launch anyway.
