The tool was developed by Airbnb's data scientists to help them crunch numbers. The company has thousands of metrics and is adding new features to calculate different types of metrics or calculate dimensions so it didn't have to redefine all the metrics for every single dimension. It led to a lot of interesting insights where teams were learning from the work of other teams because they knew that the metrics that were being calculated were exactly as they had defined them.
