The Threefold Meaning of Frankincense and the Holy of Holies

It's gold, frankincense and mer. Throughout the history of the church, there have been different explanations of this. The gold can be taken as a reference to Jesus' royal identity and also a reference to his divinity. Frankincense is associated with worship. And then mer would seem to point to Jesus' burial. So there are lots of different explanations that have been given down to the ages.
