The Benefits of a Separate Bank Account
Her $33,000 bump in pay meant that she kept her spending up lunches at work takeaways and what have you. The shopping for pleasure was not too bad but that was more due to where she lives. Central Wellington is not really that great in terms of shopping so the temptation was not there as much unlike when she lived in Sydney. She set up these different accounts with a different bank to specifically set money aside for things like vet bills, medical expenses and emergency fund and a holiday account. With each pay she's just got all this money being siphoned off automatically with each fortnightly pay on the day she's paid so she doesn't even see it.
